Tired Of Gas Prices?

Petition Congress & President of the United States of America

We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, hereby petition the Congress and President of the United States of America as follows:

Whereas, the people of the United States of America almost unanimously agree that we should become energy independent and

Whereas, the development of alternative energy sources will only provide a limited supply of our energy needs in the near future and

Whereas, The United States of America has an estimated 300 to 400 billion barrels of recoverable oil that can be recovered in a more environmently safe method than oil anywhere on the planet

We, therefore, petition the Congress and the President of the United States to immediately enact such laws and regulations as are necessary to commence drilling, to allow the people access to the energy resources that are rightfully theirs.

Special Interests Rule Our Country

The economic downturn in our country has begun to have a substantial affect on supply and demand for petroleum products. Now is the time to get serious about energy independence. The difference the lower gas prices make, is real hope for working class Americans. Lower cost energy could make a profound difference in how quickly the country recovers from a recession. Congress, our representatives, that "We the People" elected to watch out for us, have done a lousy job. As usual Congress wants to blame everyone but themselves, for the housing crisis they participated in. Common sense Americans know that no money down loans are riskier than loans with more credit worthy buyers with 10-20% down. Congress allowed these loans risky loans to be classified "AAA", by the rating agencies. We need to look no farther than Congress to start with, as they encouraged these loans. It seems that there is nothing they won't do to obscure the truth. The new politics of energy is yet another smokescreen. One side wants to pursue all avenues of energy production including drilling in most areas. The other side wants to be able to say they are for drilling, so comes up with a plan to drill in a small fraction of the possible areas, so they can say they are for drilling. Then when it comes to nuclear, the same side says, we'll check into it. Are we a bunch of idiots? Or do they just think we are? Regardless, the truth is apparent. One party has become the "No Carbon Party". They can't tell us straight up, they have to give us political double-speak. The whole party now caters to the small minority of Environmentalists that are extreme, the no carbon crowd. We as a nation have a real opportunity to move forward with a real solution to our main problem, transportation fuels. Natural gas is cheap, abundant, and much cleaner than gasoline or diesel, yet the subject isn't even addressed. Most folks can't read between the lines and see this for what it is. Instead the party of wind and solar wants us to wait until gas prices hit $5 or $6 a gallon in the next couple of years, while the technology of the electric car becomes viable to the masses in maybe 20 years or so. As a middle class businessman, my analysis says this is nonsense. I believe most of America couldn't even afford a new electric car today, if it were available. Our once great country is being guided by people who could care less about our real needs. They hold down our hopes for real economic opportunity. Think carefully about who you vote for on November 4th.
